Print and cut with CCR tutorial video

July 13, 2012 by Kay

Cricut Craft Room finally fixed the bug that spit out the mat on some machines after each cut! To celebrate I’ve put together a few quick digis and a video to show how to cut them, or your own images or sentiments, with Cricut Craft Room. This demonstrates the hinge method, which also works in the same way with the Gypsy and Cricut Design Studio, as well as many other software packages on many other cutters.

Download the PDF here (goes with the Accent shape in Cricut Craft Room Basics cut at 2 inches) Be sure to print at 100%.

Oh, my goodness. That is so cool. I went downstairs and tried the hinge method on my Cricut Expression and it worked!!!
Now, how can I make the printout “stamps” that are on your pdfs that you do? Do you use a software or just do it on your computer?
Do you have a tutorial about making the digi stamps that fit the shape?

      Hi Mary,
I just use design software, nothing automated. Plan to post a tutorial on that soon.

Indira, if you have a graphics program like PSE that can open and edit PDFs you can change the colors there.

Do you have to reload CCR to get the bug out or does it do it automatically?

      Leticia,
You should not be unloading your mat. I will see if I can find out how to make the mat return to the start position on a cricut mini.

hello, thank you very much for the prompt response!!!
Only a few days ago that I have my cricut and still not well what are the limitations or if I do something wrong through unknow.

I see in your video that the ccr software has a button to unload. Well that button i don`t have it, that’s why asked the ccr version, maybe I have an old version that does not have the functionality to let the mat in the starting position.

Thanks again and I really appreciate your help
        regards
        Leticia

My video is much older than your Cricut and we don’t use that button so I don’t think that is the issue. The issue is that the Mini does not have a separate “load mat” button. What you would need to do is make an extra layer in your document with a tiny dummy cut at the top of the mat. Run the test cut (cutting the hinged scrap paper), then run the dummy cut which should move the mat back near the starting position, then place your print and run the first cut again. If I had a Cricut mini I would make another video for you.

I can’t tell you how grateful I am for the time you spent to answer!!!
I understand the concept of what you tell me, I’ve never tried the layered cut. If I understand correctly, I put in the upper left one object as small as possible so that the blade is aligned at the start and cutting the dummy don’t move the blade.
I’ll try it and then tell you.
            thanks again
            regards
            Leticia
