Where are the digistamps to match punches?

March 8, 2012 by Kay

The big name stamping catalogs have all these great rubber and/or acrylic stamps to match punches and vice versa, but what about all those other punches and nesting dies we already have? Surely some artistic folks have put together digistamps to go with those. I mean, with these old school tools you avoid all the print and cut issues inherent with the newer technologies. Just line ’em up and punch ’em out. It could hardly be easier. So digital images and templates to match popular punches must be plentiful, right? Umm, no. In fact, I couldn’t find any. Instead I found all kinds of complicated instructions about how to measure and make your own MSWord etc. docs for sentiments. This seems woefully inefficient to my engineer brain, so today I am doing something about it and sharing the files I use with one of my favorite punches, the “Real Estate Sign” from EK Tools. If you own this punch, please download and enjoy this file and let me see what you do with it. If you have punch-coordinating files of your own, I hope you’ll post them and let me know so I can link you up here. And if you are a punch or die manufacturer, you can thank me later.

download the PDF here

Update: I did find one other PDF printable to match this punch here.

My tutorial on how to make these is here.

      Myrna,
Are you getting an error message? If so, what does it say? If not, Did you check your Downloads folder?

My Adobe Acrobat/Reader will not read a PDF file in the web browser is the answer I get…..but I would love these for my punch!

Sounds like you are missing a plug in. Try saving it first and then opening it with Adobe Reader (no browser involved). Incidentally, that’s how I do it anyway.
Unfortunately, if I provide a format other than PDF then it won’t necessarily be the right size for the punch once you open it in your software, which defeats the purpose.

    Kay-
A few years ago, I shared some “clone” Stampin Up punches in the MTC Gallery under “Design Elements.” You can download these in MTC. Add your message/words with fonts in MTC, then print them and cut out or punch them if you own similar punch.

I created my own MTC file with all the punches I own. This way I can create my own digi stamps with MTC, print them out and punch out with my punches.

      Karenb,
Great idea to use MTC for templates for this! I have done the same thing with Inkscape, but any of the most of the cutter programs would work.

    Hi,

I am a digital stamp designer, but never have owned a punch, I would be delighted to design some digi stamps that would match punches out there. If you have any dimensions, or could point me to what is out there, I would get a little wheelbarrow full worked up and post them for you!

    Thanks
