New font bundle (expired)

December 19, 2015 by Kay

JM MD Font Bundle prev

Mightydeals has just posted a new crafter friendly font bundle with 5 fonts from JoelMaker, who is quickly becoming a favorite designer among diecutters. Each of these fonts is encoded for use with the Character Map (or Font Book, Nexus, MSWord, BabelMap, etc) so that you won’t have to miss a single glyph. I already own 3 of these, but buying the bundle is still cheaper than picking up either of the 2 I am missing, and I’ll get broader commercial rights! My favorite in this set is Mighty Heart because it comes with a matching sans serif font for no-brainer pairing. So you are getting not 5, but 6, fonts for $12 and you can knock 10% off that with the code WINNINGWP. Please see this post for information on installing and using these fonts as they are set up like Samantha.

Thank you for the heads-up on this deal. I am crazy about all of these fonts!!!

After reading the other posts and updates, I’m a little confused…ok, I’m a lot confused, but that’s nothing new – ha ha. On a PC with Windows (10), you initially suggest downloading TTF, but the updates seem to point toward getting the OTF. I’m using SIL Business Edition software, if that makes any difference. I’m sure I’ll never use everything that comes with these fonts, but I’d like to be sure I’m downloading the best type for what I will try. Thanks, as always, for your amazing tips and tricks. You are my hero! πŸ™‚

Good question, Doris. TTF and OTF really are interchangeable in most cases now, but for those who want a rule of thumb here is what I recommend for both Mac and Windows. Install the .OTF if one is available. If for some reason you have a problem with the .OTF, uninstall it and try the .TTF version.

Thanks for the info Kay! I have a request. Could you please make one of your amazing videos showing how you actually use these fonts? I have had the Samantha font for over a year and I haven’t used it. I’d like to see how/if you go back and forth to the character map for each letter when making a project. πŸ™‚ TIA

Love these. Got them purchased and zip file downloaded. when I extract/expand the files and try to install the .ttf by double clicking on the .ttf file, it says the extraction could not be completed. Did you have any problems with your downloads?

Edelweiss was the only one that would extract and install. All the others were bad. ;-(

Try the OTF versions if the TTFs will not work. If that doesn’t work, try redownloading and if that doesn’t work contact mighty deals.

I’m having the same problem and contacted the company. We emailed back and forth several times with them helping me and finally I asked if they could just send it unzipped. I think that was my problem. Haven’t heard back from them yet and that was 2 days ago. Has anyone got any help yet?

Mighty deals sent me the email addy for the creator. I sent him the zipped file I had received and an explanation of my problem and he sent me unzipped files. Problem solved and fonts installed.

Just to let you all know, I touched base with Mighty Deals after I couldn’t get most of the fonts to extract. They advised me to move the zipped file from Mighty Deals into a different folder on your computer such as Downloads, Documents or Desktop and then unzip and extract the files. Once I did that, they all opened with no problem. Thanks for the heads up on this deal, Kay! I look forward to playing with these fun new fonts!
