I’ve never done anything in scal except cut other peoples files. When I see your work I want to start doing my own. But, I’m chicken! Thanks for your great videos!
Excellent tutorial. Thanks so much!
Terrific tutorial. I was just thinking of doing something like this this morning. Now, i don’t have to sit down and figure it out for myself. You’ve done the work for me. THANK YOU!
You make it look so easy! Thanks for the great tut! Now to go back and write it all down….
Thank you for doing the video—– I also really want to actually use the software instead of acquiring/buying other people’s file-creations…… much better to exercise the noggin I have! : )
Thank you for the tutorial! I’m going to give it a try very soon!
I can’t find a “Contact Me” link on your blog… wanted to ask if you had a button or badge so I could add it to my blog. Can’t find one of those either. Hope you don’t mind I made my own. If you want me to remove it, please let me know.
Wow, Jen, love the blinkie. Thanks so much!
I really enjoyed this tutorial. Now if I can do it! Do you have to know how to use Inkscape? That’s my hangup. Thanks.
Rosemary, there is no Inkscape with this technique. Inkscape is only mentioned because that is how the preference setting in SCAL is labeled.
Great tutorial!!! Thanks!!!!
Awesome thanks! I had been thinking about playing around to work out how to do this, and now you have it all here for me to follow!!
Found you from your post on Two Peas ๐
I just love this idea and you did a super good job on the video. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us and for sharing all this good information with us.
Nice job Kay. I think this looks a little easier that in MTC. Not sure why, because most of the time things are easier over there. It just seems more streamlined.
On more question Kay, do you cut first then stamp or stamp first?
Mary Ann,
Cut first, then stamp. I find it easier to leave it on the mat so you don’t have to worry about holding it down while stamping.
Hello Kay, I am so impressed with your wonderful blog. I’m new to Cricut so I’ll be consulting your blog frequently! And as a professional librarian I give you 5 gold stars for beautiful web design, readable type face, fantastic tutorials, and just such a logical, clean, sane, well organized site. I thank my lucky stars that I stumbled upon you and I sincerely thank you for all the generosity you put into the world.
I LOVE YOU!!! thank you for the WONDERFUL tutorial. I’ve just started using Sure Cuts A Lot and I liked it, but now I LOVE IT!!
Good for you Kay!! Thanks for the tutorial. As you know, I started doing this about a month or 2 ago. It took me lots more steps though. Will give your techie a try tomorrow (after I watch the tute again and make some notes). Thanks so much for investingating this idea futher…I feel like you did it just for me!! Yippeeeee…this is exciting, and will kick my stamping up several notches!! Hugs, Rockin Robin C
Thanks Robin! Can’t wait to see what real stampers do with this.
This is brilliant! Thank you SO much. I need to try it now. =)
Thank you for this great tutorial. It has opened up a “whole new world” for my stamping! I’m fairly new to using SCAL and your tutorials are one of my go to tools! Thanks so much for sharing your time and talent!
I used your tutorial for one of my projects and added a link to your blog here: http://danieladobson.blogspot.com/2010/12/technique-tuesday-all-stamping-tech.html
Thanks so much!
Genius! Genius! This changes everything! LOL I’ve been wanting to do this… Thank you!
I’ve been working on this technique for some time and needed a boost. You got my brain working again, so thanks.
My scanner doesn’t allow resizing, but I figured out that it is scanning at 300dpi, so i can divide by 3.3333 and get my X component [I think, if my math is right!]
Looks much truer to size now.
I tried adjusting the dpi by resize in Infranview, but didn’t have luck with that. I wondered if there are programs (even that one) which allow dpi resizing after a scan?
Very cool. Your brain works a lot like mine, though I never thought of myself as an engineer…that makes sense though, I’m a “process” person. That part excites my brain as much as the creating. Great to hook up on the SCAL forum and to revisit your site…been here many times.
PS; Maggie is “RecordKeeper” on SCAL forum. ๐
