An easy way to cut on scraps

August 13, 2014 by Kay

PixScan promises to make it easy to cut on scraps, but it’s really pretty easy now, if you know the trick.

Note: You can use this method in V2 as shown in the video or in V3. In V3, however, you need V3.0.531 or later to have arrow keys, and you have to do one test cut first before you can move the blade with the on screen arrows.

If I update my Silhouette version, will I still be able to save to SVG format? I have resisted doing an update because of this. thx

You will need to keep v1.9 or v2.0 to continue to be able to save as SVG. It is possible to load more than one version on your computer, but V3 doesn’t play nice with other versions so it is best to keep it on a separate computer if possible.

thanks Kay. appreciate your technical expertise. Maybe if I get an ipad I can load it on there?

Unfortunately, Silhouette Studio won’t load on an iPad.

Are you recommending those of us who are not all that computer savvy, much less graphic artists, up grading to version 3?

    • Kay says

      August 13, 2014 at 7:18 pm

You do not need V3 for this process.

I only have V3.0.343, and when I checked for updates was told there are none available.  How do I get version ….531?

You do not need V3 for this process.

I updated V3 through the website (in the support area) because “check for updates” within the SS software said “no updates available.”

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your video. Not just the video but the fact you chose the same file and same color of scrap that I did before I actually watched the video. LOL
Thank you so much for another great lesson on how to make the most of my Cameo Silhouette!!!!
